The Busy Month of May

This is one of my worst times of the year. The end of May. May is my favorite month, but it flies by so quickly and I end up thinking that we need five months of May just to fit everything in. The water is up on the creeks for paddling; the soil is warming up and ready for working and molding into a summer garden; the migrant warblers are in full voice and easy to see in early May before the leaves pop out; and of course those leaves popping out and the wildflowers growing and blooming are all beyond wondrous.

I'll leave the month of May with a compendium of the month in northwest Pennsylvania...with a few photos from southwest New York (Jamestown Audubon's Burgeson Sanctuary, just over the state line) thrown in. Since my regular readers probably know, I have trouble with formatting, so I'm just going to let the photos speak for themselves. If you have any questions about IDs or further info, let me know in the comments section.
